Sherwood is located in Thousand Oaks, California, only 35 miles from the L.A. westside areas of Beverly Hills, Westwood, and Santa Monica, and just minutes away from freeway access, upscale shopping and dining, and a performing arts center.
The Golf Clubs
Sherwood Country Club is a private golf, tennis and recreational club located 35 miles from Los Angeles’ west side in Thousand Oaks. In the tradition of some of the finest and most exclusive country clubs around the country, including Sherwood’s Georgian 50,000 square foot golf clubhouse, the new family-oriented Lake Club, a “club-within-the-club,” offers members high-end amenities with attention given to personal care and services
Sherwood Lake Club’s stately 14,000 square foot clubhouse features a boardroom, a fully-equipped fitness center, men and women’s locker rooms with saunas, plus a junior Olympic-size pool, a wading pool and an outdoor spa. Sherwood Lake Club’s Grille offers dining, a lounge, and a covered terrace.
The centerpiece of Sherwood‘s Lake Club is the Nicklaus-designed, par-3 golf course. The course is a collection of par-3 holes inspired by other Nicklaus-designed holes throughout the country including Pasadera Country Club in Monterey, California; The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Jupiter, Florida; and the famed Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio. There are three sets of tees, tiered greens, and a dramatic 65-yard hole with an island green.
The course is nestled within one of Sherwood’s most scenic canyons enhanced by dramatic viewscapes of rustic hillsides, a small lake and meandering creek, ancient oaks, bridges, unique rock formations and a variety of picturesque elevation changes. Particularly noteworthy is the environmental consideration given to Sherwood’s riparian areas to maintain their viability and protection.
